To all of the readers out there who have never read this book before I highly recommend it!!

This is one of my favorite books I have ever read and that is why I decided it to be my first book review.  The author of this book is one of my favorite authors and I am proud to say that I have read every book that she has written (yes, that means a lot of my time has been spent reading every Emery Lord book, but every minute spent doing it was well worth it).

I tend to go to the library a lot during the summer because a) I have time to do whatever i want during the summer and b) who can miss out on free books!!  When i saw this book i was very excited because I saw that she came out with this book a few months ago, and to see it at the library was a plus.  Because books can be expensive and a lot of people like me do not have the money to go out and by hundreds of books, the library is a great place to get books and sometimes if you are lucky enough you will find some new books that just came out. (click here to check out some more of emery lord’s works)

This book is a book about romance, friendship, family, and faith.  It is a great book to read during the summer especially if you have a summer camp to go to or even just a trip in general.  I really enjoyed reading this book and am sad that right now I do not actually own the book ( key word right now, meaning hopefully I can buy it soon enough) If I had to categorize this book I would definitely put it in the friendship/romance category.  Now let’s get into this book…

First here is the Publisher’s description of the book:

Lucy Hansson was ready for a perfect summer with her boyfriend, working at her childhood Bible camp on the lake and spending quality time with her parents. But when her mom’s cancer reappears, Lucy falters-in her faith and in her ability to cope. When her boyfriend “pauses” their relationship and her summer job switches to a different camp-one for troubled kids-Lucy isn’t sure how much more she can handle. Attempting to accept a new normal, Lucy slowly regains footing among her vibrant, diverse coworkers, Sundays with her mom, and a crush on a fellow counselor. But when long-hidden family secrets emerge, can Lucy set aside her problems and discover what grace really means?

Emotionally-charged and unforgettable, Emery Lord’s storytelling shines with the promise of new love and true friendship, even in the face of life’s biggest challenges.

Now into my thoughts about this book…

This book was a very good book that will reach your heart in about 2 seconds.  The relationships made between Lucy and her fellow counselors will make you want to volunteer at a summer camp (at least it made me want to).  The guy she meets there is an amazing all-around guy, who in my opinion is much better than Lukas, which you have to read the book to find out who he is!!  The friends that she makes and the troubles that she goes through, many people will be able to relate to.  One thing I loved about this book is the way that Lucy handles every situation. It is very relatable and so is her personality!

This book was one that I read in one day and if you read it you will see why.  You will not want to put it down once you start to get into it.  I do admit that it does have a slow start, but once you start to getting into the story line and the characters, i am sure you will love it as much as i did.  Also if you are one of those readers who will read until the book ends even if it does mean reading it at 2 or 3 in the morning, i suggest not starting it at night (just saying).  It is for sure a hard book to put down and once you read it, you will see for yourselves.

The only thing I did not like as much is the fact that there is not a sequel to this book!!!!!  I do not know yet if emery lord is going to come out with a sequel right now but what I do know is that this book deserves a second one!!  Overall, I do not have a negative about this book, but just a lot of positives!

I recommend this book to all ages because I believe that it can reach out to anyone!

Here is some more info about the author according to her website:
